ABOUT

Enviu Zero Waste

The world is drowning in waste. Single-use plastics, inefficient packaging systems, and throwaway culture are polluting our planet and depleting valuable resources. In many regions, reuse and refill solutions are underdeveloped, and businesses face challenges in shifting away from linear systems to more sustainable, circular practices.

Enviu Zero Waste tackles these challenges by developing new circular models and scaling reuse and refill solutions. We combine waste prevention and reduction efforts to build a circular economy that puts people and the planet first.
APPROACH

Our Strategy for Change

We aim to eliminate waste by developing new solutions that tackle single-use waste at the source – whether that’s scaling reuse and refill systems or introducing other innovations that immediately reduce single-use packaging.

We also identify system barriers that prevent these solutions from scaling and actively tackle them by building partnerships with businesses, governments, and communities.

Explore Our Work

Alner

Alner (formerly Koinpack) is Indonesia’s first returnable and reusable packaging system for consumer goods. By partnering with FMCG brands, it offers a closed-loop solution where packaging is collected, cleaned, and refilled, reducing single-use plastic waste. Through community-based sales points, cashback incentives, and tech-enabled tracking, Alner makes sustainable consumption easy and accessible.

Mission Reuse

Mission Reuse – a joint initiative by Enviu and the Fair Resource Foundation – accelerates the shift to reusable packaging through innovation, knowledge sharing, policy advocacy, campaigns, and coalition-building. The program tests reuse solutions in real-world settings to gather insights on operations and consumer behaviour, helping organizations transition from single-use to reuse. It also drives systemic change by shaping policy, forming frontrunner coalitions, and running awareness campaigns to engage consumers, businesses, and governments.

Active initiatives include: The Deposit Cup (Statiegeldbeker) pilot, Pathé reuse cups and Reusable glass bottles.

Reuse In Jakarta

Reuse in Jakarta is a collaborative program initiated by Enviu and Diet Plastic. The objective is to transition Jakarta into a pioneering city for single-use plastic waste prevention. We do this by actively promoting reduce, reuse and refill solutions and encouraging diverse key stakeholders – Government, industry and consumers to adopt reuse systems as a waste prevention solution.
